Artist Bio

Rhoda’s painting practice is an exploration of the expressive qualities of light and colour, particularly, in relation to the human form. This involves painting and drawing, much of which is done from life and live models.

Rhoda is interested in the continuum of painting, how the past relates to the present with reference to art history. Her work employs traditional painting techniques such as chiaroscuro, glazing and sfumato along with more contemporary, a la prima, expressive techniques.

Rhoda has participated in several group exhibitions and shows and won a number of awards including highly commended prize Vasse Art Award 2016 and finalist Online Contemporary Art awards 2016. Her work is held in private collections in the UK, Australia and Greece.
