Artist Bio

Luke Morgan is an artist and arts educator based in Perth, Western Australia. His work centres on the figure with a focus on oil painting, ceramic sculpture and relief printmaking.

Luke’s work explores the concept of social control, using street signs as an external representation of the internal forms of control that we place upon ourselves. By combining portraiture, text and symbols of social control, themes of mental health awareness, mindfulness and wellbeing are examined.

Luke has recently exhibited his work in a solo show ‘Keep Your Thoughts To Yourself’ at Ellis House and participated in a group show ‘Young Guns on the Left’ at Linton & Kay. He currently works from his studio at the Goolugatup Heathcote Precinct.
