Rhoda Kirk

Rhoda Kirk practice is an exploration of the expressive qualities of light, particularly in relation to the human form.

This involves mainly painting and drawing. Rhodawasborn in Scotland and trained as a Nurse/ Midwife and it was not until later in life that she began herartistic career, graduating in 2014 from Curtin University with an Honours degree in fine art.

Rhoda is interested in the continuum of painting and how the past relates to the present often bear reference to historical images in herwork. This often employs traditional painting techniques such as chiaroscuro, glazing and sfumato.
