DESIGNING Women Contemporary Textiles group

Designing Women are an active and collaborative contemporary textile artist group.

We meet monthly at Piney Lakes Environmental centre in Melville. We utilize members talents to teach and encourage each other as well as using outside tutors both local, interstate and overseas.

Members are talented in textiles mediums as natural dying, felting, quilting, print making, sculpture and contemporary embroidery. We encourage and promote recycling and reuse of resources.

Our aim is to share our passion and offer information support and encouragement in a wide range of textile and fibre arts. We regularly exhibit individually or as a group.

The group was established in the early 2000’s. Originally meeting at Heathcote and now meet at Piney Lakes Environment Centre on the 2nd Saturday of most months.
