Artist Bio
Chris Irving is a landscape painter working mainly with oils on board or canvas. He began painting late in life and spent a year exploring form and colour in a purely abstract way before taking private classes with an award-winning landscape painter.
Frequent camping sojourns provide much of the material. His love affair with the Southwest of WA informs his subject matter from tree- lined river settings, forest scenes, vast vistas viewed from hilltops, and ocean scenes. He paints both plein air and from photos. Chris paints mostly for his own pleasure, but occasionally takes commissions, and a selection of his paintings are for sale.
